Greetings!
This is an exciting month for us as we get ready for Chris' wedding. Chris is our oldest son and marrying an absolute wonde rful young woman, Ashley. The wedding is July 25 and we'll have our entire family together - can't wait!
In the beginning of the month we celebrated my birthday by going out for dinner to one of my favorite restaurants. Bruce's sister, Lori, is visiting from Dubai and joined us for dinner so it was extra special! Sean, Me, Ashley, Chris, Lori, Bruce, Micah
I'm having a blast this month with my 30-Day Adventure to an Incredible You. I'm blogging every day about a 'small moment' that I experience during the day and what it meant to me. You can read all the posts at my blog and I'd love to read your comments there.
I had to make a new habit to write in my blog every day and that's what I want to share with you in this newsletter - how to start a habit and keep it going!

A Habit a Day
When I mention the word 'habit' when I give a presentation I usually hear some small groans and see rolling of eyes in the audience. I think that's because most people think of a habit as something they have to do, that's hard to do, and deep inside they think they can't do it.
In Og Mandino's fantastic book, "The Greatest Salesman in the World", he writes "Failure is man's inability to reach his goals in life, whatever they may be. In truth, the only difference between those who have failed and those who have succeeded lies in the difference of their habits. Good habits are the key to all success."
A habit is a good thing - a very good thing if it will take you toward your goals. And those are the only habits you should start anyway.
- If your goal is an organized office then your habit should be to maintain your organizing systems every day.
- If your goal is to make more money in your business then your habit should be to work on your marketing systems every day.
- If your goal is to eat healthy then your habit should be to be very picky about what you eat and only purchase healthy items from the grocery store.
- My goal is to journal every day in my blog on small moments that happen to me everyday and to pay attention to what they mean to me. My habit then is to pay attention during the day and have a quiet time each night as I decide on what to write about in my blog for that day.
If your goal is something that you really want then you need to think of the habit that will help you achieve your goal. This makes choosing your new habit a lot of fun and you'll be much more likely to do it every day. If you know me and/or have my book " Organize with Confidence" then you know I LOVE forms! Today I came across a fantastic form to help us take action on our habits every day. I couldn't believe the timing of finding this information! You can read the article here and to get the great habit tracking form that they show there is a spot in the article to sign up for their Habit List Course. I'm excited to give it a try! Fearless Organizing Assignment:Look over your goals and ask yourself what habits to you need to start to achieve your goals? Put these habits in your calendar as appointments with yourself. I heard that it takes 21 days to make a habit part of your life - I would suggest having it in your calendar for 30 days!
