A Little Bit About Castillo de Feliciana Vineyards
For Dr. Sam Castillo and
his wife Deborah, Castillo de
Feliciana has been a great
adventure! Known by most in Duvall,
WA as "Dr. Sam," Castillo has based
his dental practice in downtown
Duvall for nearly 30 years. Not
until they saw the land in Walla
Walla, which they hope one day to
call a home as well as a business
venture, did Deborah say "This is
for us!"
The Castillos' interest in
winemaking as a hobby paired nicely
with chancing upon a former
Duvallite, Ryan Raber, their wine
consultant, who had metamorphosed
from a Cedarcrest High School
alumnus to a graduate of the Walla
Walla School of Enology and
Viticulture and award winning
winemaker for Tertulia
Cellars.
The couple, married
36 years, feel the vinters'
community of Walla Walla has been
welcoming and full of resources for
winery newcomers like themselves.
They look on Feliciana Vineyard as a
multigenerational venture, a
heritage of fellowship for their
descendents to share.
While many couples think of slowing
down, Deborah acknowledges that her
husband is not one ever to take life
too easily. Appreciating that he is
a challenge-seeker, she feels that
Feliciana Vineyard is the right
place and right direction for
them.

We hope you will join us for a

of wine tasting with one of Walla
Walla's newest wineries, Castillo de
Feliciana. We have been following
winemaker Ryan Raber since his time
with Tertulia Cellars, and are very
pleased to bring Ryan in next week
to taste our guests on five amazing
wines that he has been working on in
his new role as winemaker for
Castillo de Feliciana Vineyards
right here in Walla Walla.
We plan to taste through Castillo de
Feliciana's inagural Semillon, Pinot
Grigio, Viognier, Tempranillo and
Miercoles (a blend of Cabarnet and
Syrah from local Pepper Bridge
Vineyard). Of course each wine will
be perfectly paired with an array of
salumi, cheese and other delectable
treats cooked up by Damon.
