Here we are with the last Grocery Bag of
2007.
It has been a great year for us here at Salumiere
Cesario, all of it thanks to our customers. With out
your continued support we cannot do what we love,
which is bringing to Walla Walla the best products that
we can find. We try very hard to source hand made
and unique food items that make living in the heart of
wine country even better. So thank you to all of you ~
whether you come in every week or only have been in
once, we appreciate your business! Here's to a great
2008!
This months'
Grocery Bag will be filled with many of your favorite
holiday treats and some new ones too.
Go

We have stocked our wine racks full of wines from all
over the world. From still to sparkling to Port, these
wines will meet your holiday needs at any price
range. We have Champagnes from Epernay,
Reims, and Aube, France, We also have a few
Cremants from Bordeaux (these are a must try!), as
well as sparklers from Argentina, South Africa, and
Spain.
We also have some
new beers in house. We are the first to bring "The
Lost Abbey" to Walla Walla. The Lost Abbey is a side
project from the boys at Port Brewing in San Marcos,
California. If you haven't tasted this yet - they are doing
some very exciting and very untraditonal things with
beer.
Our wine selection spans the globe with
wines from all over the world. We have some new
large format bottles that make great gifts and are
perfect to pour at your family holiday meal. Come in
and take a look at the bottles we have in stock!

Cheese |
|
For those of you that were able to attend our special
Parmesan cutting just after Thanksgiving, thank you!
For those of you who were not able to make it, we still
have some of the wheel available for purchase. If you
haven't tried this yet, now is the time to come in and
get
some before it disappears until next year.
We still have one wheel of Rogue River Blue -
this is another that once it is
gone, it is gone until next year.
We
have also recently cut into another Isle of Mull
Cheddar. This one has been aging in our Cheese
Closet for an extra long time, as part of our extended
aging program. This is a wild and exciting cheese,
with robust flavors, yet still subtle and
complex. This one is a MUST try.
This time
of year marks a very unique and special time to treat
yourselves, your guests and your family to some
exciting seasonal cheeses, come in and see what we
have.

Meats |
|
We have just brought in something truly extraordinary!!
A HAND-MADE product, one of the last of its kind
in America.
"A product widely known by
many food
editors and connoisseurs, this aged ham is among
the last of its kind -- a "lost art" to which the
commercialized methods of today cannot compare.
The curing method was obtained from an old family
will dating to the 1770s."
We are lucky
enough to have
three
Newsom's Country Hams for the holidays. We have
been slicing one in-store like a European Bone-in
Jamon. Please come in to try a taste - you won't be
disappointed. This is a great item to have in your
home for holiday snacking on or even for light
breakfast on Christmas or New Year's morning. We
also have a few other Newsom's products that you
just have to come in to find out more.
Also,
Salumi of Seattle has just introduced something new -
and we are lucky enough to have some for the
holidays. Their Agrumi is seasoned with a little hot
pepper and citrus. We love it and we think you will
too!

Olive Bar & Olive Oil |
|
We have just added a bunch of new olives to our olive
bar,
including some from North Africa. Come in and try a
few - these are great treats to have on hand during the
holidays!
We also just received some great
new Olive Oils that are a must try. And, we have just
taken stock of the first of this year's Olio Novellos. Olio
Novello, or New Oil, is the first pressing of the Olive Oil
from each year's harvest. Usually bottled with in a day
of the first pressing, some are bottled with in hours!
Many of you tried some of the Oilo Novellos last year -
this year is sure to be an even better crop.

Salt Bar |
|
The salt bar is full once again! We have stocked up
on some of your favorite cooking and finishing salts
as well as a great selection of salt-cellars to hold
them in! A salt cellar filled with a selection of salts
could not be the more perfect gift for that cooking
enthusiast on your list this year!
|
Holiday Treats |
|
We recently just got in some amazing Pannetone and
Panforte from Italy. Pannetone is a rich, eggy,
holiday bread and is great to have around the house
for the holidays when you need a little pick-me-up.
Panforte is a holiday bread that is dense, loaded
with nuts and chocolate, very similar to the fig cake
that we always have in stock. The Panforte is a
great after-dinner treat to enjoy with your holiday
spirits or a glass of Port. There is limited stock of both
so grab your's soon!

What's In Store... |
|
If you haven't been in the store during the week you
are missing out on a well kept secret, we have been
cooking. We are currently offering some hot meals
during the week to have in-store or take back to the
office. Selections change every week, so come in
often. We also will be offering prepared food to take
home to your family and guests. Some items that you
might find is our "not yet world famous" macaroni
and cheese, homemade Miso soup, and many other
tasty treats. And we will also have our famous
Cantucci (small biscotti) in store in December.

Thank You! |
|
2007 has been a great year here at Salumiere
Cesario. The store has changed dramatically since
January. We have doubled our wine selection, added
a refrigerated case and even a few new employees.
We have added many new items, both food and non
food. We have been able to bring to Walla Walla more
great products from all over the world. And none of it
would have been possible with out your continued
support. Thank you to all of you who have helped
make our little store what it is. We hope that 2008 will
be as successful for us as well as all of you. Cheers.

Cheers! |
|
Thank you for your continued support - we hope to see
you in the store again soon! Happy Holidays.
