Did you know?
The L'Ecole colorful label features many of
the personal elements that make L'Ecole N 41
unique. In 1984, an art contest was held among some
elementary school children - the hope was to receive
a colorful image that could be used as a wine label.
Many of the children drew pictures of the school
building, others drew bottles of wine. The $100 prize
went to an 8-year-old third grader - and now his
watercolor rendition of the schoolhouse is used at the
focus of the L'Ecole label!

It's already been one year since we opened
Salumiere Cesario, so for our first anniversary we
decided to invite one of Walla Walla's oldest and most
well-known wineries to celebrate with us.
L'Ecole No. 41 was founded in 1983 by Jean
and Baker Ferguson in the old Lowden schoolhouse.
They have been producing premium wine in the Walla
Walla valley for nearly a quarter of a century with
production reaching just near 30,000 cases
annually.
And, as some of you may already
know, L'Ecole has a special place in our hearts
because Damon spent the fall of 2003 working
harvest at the L'Ecole No. 41 facility. L'Ecole is part of
the reason that we moved to Walla Walla to open our
store!
Please join us for a very special
celebration. Gustiamo!
Here's What We'll Be Tasting:
We will have winemaker Mike Sharon of L'Ecole No.
41 in the house to taste us on some of L'Ecole's
fantastic wines. Here is a sneak peek at what we will
be pouring:
2003 Columbia Valley Semillon 2005 Columbia
Valley Semillon 2005 Columbia Valley
Chardonnay 2003 Walla Walla Valley Cabernet
Sauvignon 2004 Columbia Valley
Syrah
We will be creating some unique food
pairings for this special event.
