Greetings!

Well, it's officially THAT time of year. Autumnal Equinox, Fall, Indian Summer; call it what you will, summer is over.

Some measure the passing of time by marking the calendar holidays, others assess changes of weather, and some sense longer and shorter days as the seasons come and go. We know summer has ended because the aspens are changing color, the house guests have headed home, and the elk are bugling in the background.

So in honor of late summer and all the fishing we've been doing, and in homage to the coming fall and the fishing we WILL be doing, this week's newsletter is composed of many wonderful photos from you! If you don't see your contribution this week, fear not - we're just holding onto it for future use.

Thanks for sending your pictures in, thanks for coming by, and thanks for keeping in touch throughout the season. We couldn't, and we wouldn't, do it without you. Enjoy this week's view of Yellowstone Country, and we'll hope to see you out here soon.

One Fly Winners Before we go any further, congratulations are in order!

Our hats are off to the Lip Rippers, the winning team in Jackson's recent One Fly Competition.

Our good friends Michael Coles, Jim Criner and Ken Takata, along with their fishing buddy, Fletcher White, of Victor, Idaho, placed first in the annual One Fly Event in Jackson, Wyoming, two weekends ago.

Their four-man team, deemed the Lip Rippers and led by Coles, chose their flies correctly this year and had a competitive edge over the other 170 or so anglers in the competition.

Congratulations, thank you, and we're not worthy.

And now on to the photographs....

Anderson Madison Valley It's hard to believe we live here. Thanks to Tim and Ursula Anderson for capturing our colors and our spaces like no other photographers we know. Glad you're here.

Llewellyn Landscape 1 Thanks also to Rick and Julia Llewellyn, who always provide a smorgasbord of landscapes, wildlife, and smiley fish photos - not to mention smiley guides and shop staff.

Chlebowski 2 John Chlebowski sent us these two beauties.

Ken Ford Ken Ford had a great time with Drew. Who doesn't?

Llewellyn Bear 1 It's been a bear-y year. Don't forget your bear spray if you're out in Yellowstone country, or a stop by the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center if you find yourself IN town.

Pam Anderson Pam and Steve Anderson had a good time with Callibaetis and Scott Clark on Hebgen this summer.

Garhart Stephenson Every year our friend Frank tells us he meets someone interesting, which makes his trip to Yellowstone country memorable. This year the character du jour was Garhart Stephenson, who ties flies in his "Mallard Metro" and crosses big water without a wading staff or a second thought./i>

Dale Mikle Dale Mikle caught this pretty cutt in Slough Creek on a horse trip with Blue Ribbon. It's hard to argue with success.

Dubberly 3rd Meadow Speaking of Slough, Stephen Dubberly sent us this reminder of just how pretty the 3rd Meadow of Slough really is.

Tim Anderson Don't forget how pretty Yellowstone country is.

Anderson Smiling Trout Or how happy it makes us.

Julia Dan 2 Even DAN is happy.

Llewellyn Mongolia Happy Birthday Yvonne! Rick and Julia caught two big fish in your honor and brought along a little piece of West Yellowstone on their recent trip to Mongolia.

Llewellyn Pronghorn 2011 Did you know pronghorn are not technically antelope? There go all our clever captions about our home on the range, with the deer and all. .. .

Mark Stanko Mark Stanko had a great time in the Northeast Corner of the Park.
