Food Drive a Success!
By Julie Beeh | | |
In December, the Bend Service Center store held a food drive, resulting in the collection of 260 pounds of food from girls and adult volunteers!
The food was donated to Neighbor Impact, a local non-profit serving economically disadvantaged people in Central Oregon.
As a part of the successful drive, the store gave 123 patches to food drive participants.
Way to go Central Oregon Girl Scouts and volunteers!

| Which Troop Was the First to Sell Girl Scout Cookies? | |
The earliest mention of a cookie sale found to date was that of the Mistletoe Troop in Muskogee, Oklahoma, which baked cookies and sold them in its high school cafeteria as a service project in December 1917.
For the history and evolution of Girl Scout Cookies, visit girlscouts.org.
There's still time to stock up on all of your favorites and try the new cookie, Savannah Smiles, honoring Girl Scouts' 100th anniversary and founder Juliette Gordon Low's birthplace. Girls will hold booth sales now through March 11, 2012. Enter your zip code into the Cookie Locator to find a booth sale near you! |
