Girl Scout Cookies Are Coming!

Troop Financial Reports

Remember that this year troop financial reports for the previous membership year (2010-11) must be on file before a troop is allowed to participate in product sales. Work with your service unit treasurer and service unit product sale manager to make sure your troop has their paperwork in. You will then be able to get the Girl Scout Cookie Program paperwork and get eBudde access.

Cookie Rallies
These events are fast approaching and their success will help girls reach troop and service unit goals. Please contact your service unit rally organizer to find out how you can help either before or during the event. Attend a rally so girls can have a great start to the Girl Scout Cookie Program!

An Important Note On Training Registration
It is recommended that volunteers pre-register for training courses. Although walk-ins are always welcome, those persons run the risk of coming to a training that may have been canceled or re-scheduled. Registration is EASY and available in THREE ways!

  1. Online through Personify
  2. By paper forms at a service center or mailed into the adult development department
  3. By contacting Jennifer Eickhorst at 1-800-875-2451 to register by phone

Winter/Spring 2012 Trainings Now Listed in Personify

Don't see what you're looking for? Contact the Adult Development Department and we will be happy to assist you.

Join Our Adult Recognition Team!

The GSOSW adult recognitions team is still looking for new members. Volunteering on this committee only requires a few hours at home reviewing nominations and a few of conference calls. If you would like to help ensure that all the valuable efforts of our volunteers get recognized, please contact Bonnie Maddux (1-800-875-2451) for more information.

Nomination Deadline Approaching

National level recognition nominations are right around the corner! All the necessary forms and instructions can be found on our Adult Recognitions Web page. Completed national level recognition nomination paperwork is due January 15, 2012. All other recognition nominations are due March 2012.

Resident Camp is the Ultimate Girl Scout Leadership Experience

Resident camp registration is now open! This incredible overnight adventure is available in sessions lasting from two nights to two weeks. Girls can experience camp:

  • As an individual
  • With a buddy
  • With their Girl Scout troop at Core Camp
  • With a special adult at She & Me or Me & My Guy

However girls choose to participate, resident camp offers girls the opportunity to discover a new understanding of themselves and their values, explore new skills and interests, connect with new friends, gain experience in community living, take action around camp, and learn how they can make the world a better place. To learn about details of each session, explore the 2012 Resident Camp Brochure. Printed copies of the 2012 Resident Camp Brochure will be mailed out in early January.

Tiered Pricing

In an effort to keep camp affordable to all families but also expressing the true cost of camp, we have adopted tiered pricing. All campers will enjoy the same camp experience regardless of which price the family can afford.

  • Tier 1 is the actual cost to run our camps, and reflects staffing, program supplies, food and maintenance costs.
  • Tier 2 is a partially subsidized cost of camp for families that can pay a little more but not the actual cost of camp.
  • Tier 3 is our standard subsidized fee.

Families may choose the tier they can afford. Financial assistance is still available for families who need it.

Women's Own at Camp Cleawox

This all-adult camp experience is a great chance to get away for a long weekend and reconnect (or connect for the first time) with the magic of camp! All proceeds from this program benefit camperships for 2013.

Introducing the 1912 Society!

In honor of 100 years of Girl Scouting, Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington is proud to introduce the 1912 Society - become a member by making a one-time contribution of $100 or more between now and December 2012.

How it works:

  • Be one of the first 1,912 individuals or troops/groups to donate $100 toward the 1912 Society between now and December 2012.
  • As a founding member, your name (or the name of whomever you decide to honor) will be permanently recognized on a Wall of Honor at our headquarters in Portland, Oregon. In addition, your name will be listed in our annual report and on our website celebrating your support of Girl Scouting for the next 100 years!

Troops/groups can also join the 1912 Society and have their troop number permanently listed on the Wall of Honor!

All funds benefit financial assistance for girls. Learn more at girlscoutsosw.org or become a founding member today!

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character,
who make the world a better place.
