New Badge Opportunity - Trekking!
Girl Scouts of the USA is introducing a new official badge category - Trekking Badges - and they've asked our council to help start the program! Designed for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors, these badges will help girls:
  • Learn about the special places, people, culture, history, arts and industry of an area by travelling to the council area;
  • Have fun exploring what is unique about the region they visit;
  • Investigate more choices for girl-planned destinations.
These badges will be available to girls in our council and to visiting Girl Scouts. This means that when you visit another council's area, you'll be able to earn their badge, too!

To kick off the creation of these badges, we first need to come up with requirements. We've been gathering ideas in small groups, but would like more ideas! Please take the following survey (about 10 minutes) to tell us what you like about the ideas, where we can do better and any additional ideas you have to make our Trekking badge special to our area. Feedback is needed by November 15. Thank you!
