About Roe Oil Company

 

Roe Oil Company is a diversified petroleum marketer located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley and was originated in 1964 when William P Roe took over the local Atlantic Richfield Company distributorship. 

 

Today the company is owned by his son Jeff Roe who joined the business in 1980 after graduating from college and spending five years as a production engineer in the garment industry.  "Coming to work for my dad's company meant less money, but money's not everything, and having the opportunity to take over the business was important to me", says Jeff.  In 2007 Jeff assumed full ownership after the passing of his parents.

 

Roe Oil became involved with fleet fueling in 1980 when they installed their first key-lock with 14 positions, and later expanding the site to 60 keys.  When cardlock technology came out Roe Oil jumped on board and soon was entertaining something called CFN. 

 

"Joining CFN was a great move for our business.  We quickly found ourselves selling over 100,000 gallons a month through our first site", says Jeff. "We added our second site in 1992, and today are selling everything CFN has to offer including the Fleetwide card which provides us better coverage throughout the country."   

 

Today Roe Oil Company is marketing fleet fueling under the brand identity Fleet First Fuels www.fleetfirstfuels.com and is a satisfied PowerUp Fleet customer.

We asked Jeff Roe and Geary Galusha what they think of the PowerUp Fleet Sales/CRM system.  Here are their responses.  

PowerUp:  Jeff, was your decision to work with PowerUp Fleet the right one?

 

Jeff: There's no doubt in my mind that it was the right decision.  By working with you, it forced us to step through doors that we needed to, and we're better off for doing so. 

 

PowerUp: Geary, you are the lead person using our system.  What do you think of the Fleetcard Marketer and Customer Care software?

 

Geary: It's absolutely the bomb!  By that I mean it's the best system I've ever worked with. 

 

PowerUp: What do you like most about it?

 

Geary: I love the way it helps manage my day. The system makes it easy to organize, prioritize and then delegate my work load. Without leaving the main screen, and with just the touch of a button, I have easy access to letters, envelopes and labels.  With the Fleetcard Marketer I manage my business, my business doesn't manage me.

 

PowerUp:  How has using the system helped your company?

 

Geary:  I use the Fleetcard Marketer program to increase my sales, and I use Customer Care to manage and control my collections.  Sales are at risk in the absence of strong delinquency control.  It also helps me track who I talked to, when, and what transpired during the call as well as manage my follow up.

 

PowerUp: Why is having an effective follow up system so important? 

 

Geary:  I have learned in sales that follow up is the key. In my 30 years of selling experience, the Fleetcard Marketer is by far the best follow up system I have used. Being able to notate the conversation enables me to revisit the account and overcome objections.  It also allows me to go back and look at the prospect 60 days later and remember it like it was yesterday.

 

PowerUp:  Could you see yourself doing this job without this tool?

 

Geary: No.

 

PowerUp:  Would you recommend PowerUp Fleet to other marketers like yourself?

 

Geary: I have recommended the PowerUp Fleet system to all my personal and professional contacts.  Every company like ours should be using this tool.
