AVSC Celebrates 75 Years of Service
AVSC 75th Anniversary Logo Larger Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club is excited to announce that this July 4th will signal the start of our 75th Anniversary season!

Thanks goes out to all our kind donors, volunteers, supporters and participants for helping us to reach this milestone.  Not bad for a Club that started when a small group of ski enthusiasts decided to band together to cut the first ski run on Aspen Mountain!

We hope you'll join us at Koch Park on the 16th Annual 4th of July Picnic and stay tuned for more 75th Anniversary announcements as the season continues!
It's Summer and It's Time to Get Outdoors with AVSC!
Bounce Session
The temperatures are just about perfect outside and AVSC is taking advantage with a host of great summer camps for ages 7 and up.  Kids are invited to grab their mountain bike and join our Mountain Biking Camp with AVSC coach Fordy Sinkinson, head to the Clubhouse for our weekly Bounce Sessions (above) or our (do-it-all) Summer Camp.  Older athletes (ages 13 and up) can get in amazing shape through a variety of fun activities with AVSC conditioning coach Katharina Golik at our Summer Conditioning Camp. These are just some of the choices available so be sure to click the Summer Programs button on our website: www.teamavsc.org for the full list. AVSC - the best place to spend the summer!

The Grillmasters at Work
We're seeking volunteers for our 16th Annual 4th of July Picnic at Koch Park in Aspen.  This is a great way to support the Club, see some old friends and have some fun.

Positions will be filled on a first-come basis.  Volunteers get free lunch, will be rotated and will have a great time guaranteed!

Contact Barbara Frank at bfrank@teamavsc.org or call (970) 205-5102. All volunteers who have signed up with Barbara should meet us at Koch Park (the volleyball park) in Aspen.

Thank you all so much for helping support AVSC.  It is going to be a great day on Monday and it
will be the perfect way to inaugurate our 75th Anniversary of serving the Roaring Fork Valley!

Townie Quest takes place on Saturday, July 2nd from 12pm - 4pm with the after-party at 39 Degrees at the Sky Hotel. Teams of 5 or 6 will compete against each other. Registration proceeds benefit AVSC's amazing Adaptive athletes!

AVSC parents and alumni - please take a moment to sign up a team and tell all your friends via Facebook or via word of mouth. It's going to be a blast!
The AVSC Equipment Blog is Back!
We're once again offering the AVSC Equipment Blog up to athletes and parents looking to buy or sell ski and/or snowboard equipment.

The blog, located at http://avscgear.blogspot.com is the perfect place to post photos and details of what you need or what you need to shed.  Be sure to check it out.  This month's post features some very fast skis used by Alpine J2 athlete Bobby Moyer that his dad Roger has made available.  Check them out and bookmark the site for more postings this fall!
AVSC Coach Kent Towlerton looking for Aspen Housing
Here's a recent letter from AVSC Alpine Ability Head Coach Kent Towlerton hoping to make a move closer to the Club:

Howdy,
I'm trying to move to Aspen and rent an apartment there for Bonnie & myself. We have no pets. If anyone has contacts or ideas for rental housing in Aspen, please let me know. I am out of my place in Basalt, the middle of July & might be camping after that. Thanks for your help.

Email Kent at ktowlerton@teamavsc.org or call him at (970) 205-5111 if you have any leads!
