New Pattern - Raffaela

Raffaela Preview
In the market for some new & different clothing, this spring I had the urge to knit some bigger pieces - the kind that you fall in love with and want to wear all the time and everywhere, rain or shine, hot or cold.

Raffaela has a fashion forward, contemporary styling. The front panel wraps around the shoulders and forms part of the back. Shown here in Silk Garden, it looks equally lovely in a solid color, where the simple cable really stands out.

I fasten Raffaela loosely in the front with a shawl pin, but it can also be worn open or if desired, one could knit up some short I-cords to be attached for a tie-front. However you wear it, you will find yourself on the receiving end of many compliments!

New Pattern - Edie

Edie PreviewKureyon Sock and regular Kureyon seemed to be crying out to me to be used together. I picked my favorite colorway and combined the two yarns creating a dramatic effect with a simple technique. The sock yarn is loosely knit on larger needles and worked in a set, easy-to-follow sequence with the worsted yarn. The design is a very simple side-to-side panel with straight sleeves worked in the round from the body out. This design, though it may look complex is easy enough for any determined beginner. The end result is a nice, lightweight cardigan to take the chill off summer evenings.
  • Requires from 2-3 skeins of Kureyon sock and 2-4 skeins of Kureyon
  • Suggested needles: 6mm and 10mm circular needles
  • Finished Size: Petite, Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large
  • Required skills: Knit and Purl
  • Pattern Price: $7.50 (+ $1.50 postage for USPS version)

Coming soon is another pattern also designed with Noro Kureyon Sock in mind - though we think it will be equally lovely in Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn. This pattern is currently in the testing stage, but it will be ready soon!

Going to the Birds!

HettieHettie and Stanley are ready and waiting to fly into your arms - or rather.. off your knitting needles!

Hettie is an adorable 6" tall chicken softie. Her body is worked primarily in the round with some short-row shaping forming her tail. With added details such as her wattle and comb, and a touch of whimsy in the spots on her wings, she is sure to be the favorite toy and companion to a little one.

Stanley

Stanley is a fine-looking, 7" tall and regal Penguin. Clearly of noble bearing, he is sure to keep everyone in line, but with a gentle softie touch!

Also worked in the round, Stanley has a plump white belly, some fancy gold feet and flightless wings to keep him firmly planted on solid ground.
