ISAT ASSESSMENTS (for grades 3-8) :

They will be ready for families to pick up June 7 and 8 in the main office.  If you are unable to pick them up at this time, they will be available whenever the main office is open in June and August.  We apologize for not having them ready for families at Student-Led Conferences but they will not be released from the state until today and we need time to get them copied and placed in envelopes.

Garden City Library- Summer Fun!

Join the Garden City Library for fun, free programs going on this summer. Our first awesome program is Mini Masters, an art class taught by MFA candidate Luz Camarena (She speaks Spanish, Woo Hoo!). Registration is limited- sign your kids up at: http://minimasterswithluz.eventbrite.com

In short order we will have more artists coming to teach pottery, real live birds from the Birds of Prey Center and a reptile presentation where kids get to see and interact with the reptiles. We even have the Discovery center of Idaho coming with a PLANETARIUM!

Parents you can find out about all the cool stuff we are doing at: http://notaquietlibrary.org/

Anser Garden:
The last week in the garden we harvested lettuce, spinach, herbs and potatoes. The kids had fun filling their bags and telling me about the salads they would make or how much their moms and dads love herbs and potatoes. We also thinned carrots and talked about all the tomatoes and squash that will be in the garden when they get back at the end of summer.

 Congratulations to Michelle Dunstan:

Summer Parent Volunteers needed:

Can we bring back the wine and cheese parties?

Don't we all look back so fondly on the nights of summer 2009 when Anser parents tore down walls, yanked up carpet, and painted our building into the colorful  home we have now! The promise of wine and cheese is, sadly, a ruse, but the need for some help this summer is not!  We have plans to replace some carpet, and move the library to a new space so that it will be open to student use more often. We need some volunteers to work on Monday and Tuesday June 4th and 5th moving books and bookcases to the new library location. We will also need some volunteers to move furniture out of some EC classrooms so that the carpet can be replaced, and then move it back in.  Please contact Heather Dennis at hdennis@ansercharterschool.org if you can help with these projects to improve our school and save our money to spend on educating children!

ANSER library books are all due:
The final due date for all ANSER Library books was May 21st.

Please check around your house for any ANSER library books and return them to the drop box.

Thank you!

Office Housekeeping:
Medication in the office:
If you have dropped off medication for your child in the office please pick it up before the end of the school day on May 31st. On June 1st we will dispose of any left over medication. Please be advised that we can't send any medication home with a student.

Auction Receipts and Gift Certificates:
I have several auction receipts and certificates left in the office. Please swing by and grab your receipts and certificates as soon as possible.

Join your fellow Anser families in supporting Sean Gaffney:

Anser Dad Sean Gaffney was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on February 12, 2012. Many Anser friends have offered support to the Gaffneys. They would like to invite anyone who would like to attend and support Sean to a special fundraising event. Share this evening with Sean and Penelope, talk to Sean about his journey thus far, and give them an opportunity to thank, in person, the people that have been so supportive.    This event is a fundraiser for Sean Gaffney. We will raffle artwork, wine and even an IPad 3 for those who donate. For more information:
