Free Confident City Cycling Ride - This Saturday!


Brush up on your biking skills and learn how to ride safely and confidently. The first hour will focus on instruction, practice and drills in a closed parking lot. After that, put your new skills and techniques into practice with a 12 mile bike ride through Arlington on roads and trails to Long Bridge Park and back (with a stop for drinks and snacks).

 

Learn from four League Certified Instructors, including BikeArlington's own Chris Eatough - professional cyclist turned bike advocate.  Participants should bring their own bikes, helmets, and water.


Date: Saturday, May 5th 

Time: 10 AM to 1 PM  

Location: Meet at Quincy Street Parking Deck (15th St. N & Quincy St. Arlington, VA 22203) This is near Washington-Lee High School.  Entrance to parking garage is off of 15th St. N.  We will meet on the open air, top level.

The region's biggest bike ride is back in 2012 on Sunday, May 13th. Enjoy a family friendly ride on car-free roads, highways and parkways. 


The complete route is 24 miles and a shorter 11 mile family friendly route option is available. Take in some of Washington and Arlington's most scenic areas including the US Capitol, White House, Iwo Jima and Air Force Memorials, the Potomac River, and the George Washington Memorial Parkway!  All from the best possible viewpoint - the seat of your bicycle.

New Capital Bikeshare Stations arrive in Arlington!
 
During the past couple weeks you may have noticed new Capital Bikeshare stations popping up all over the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor. That brings the total count up to 38 stations, just in Arlington!  Of course, there are docking station all over the District and there will be stations in Alexandria later this Spring.  The total number of stations for the entire system is 165 and counting!

Tuesday Night is Bike Night in Arlington with Two Wheel Tuesdays!

 

Learn everything you need to know about riding your bike in Arlington County through our fun and interactive Two Wheel Tuesday sessions.  Each session will be from 7:00pm - 8:30pm every Tuesday night. Sessions will be held at the lobby level of the County Building at 2100 Clarendon Blvd in Courthouse.

Two Wheel Safety Tips: Get tips on safe biking so you can ride in traffic with confidence
