We are more than halfway through the winter, but we bet you could still use thoughts of sunshine and tropical breezes until spring arrives!  Allow us to share a bit of warmth from the Caribbean with you! We recently boarded the Royal Caribbean's "Liberty of the Seas" to take a look at all they have to offer.  For starters, the ship is equipped with large accessible cabins, pool lifts, and an accommodating staff!  Read further about our trip and the accessibility in our blog below.

If cruising the Caribbean sounds like a fun adventure to you, then let us take this opportunity to announce our first ever group cruise excursion!  TravelinWheels is thrilled to partner with Easy Access Travel to bring The First Annual Spina Bifida Young Adults Enrichment Cruise. We invite young adults with Spina Bifida, their friends, and families, an opportunity to cruise together aboard Royal Caribbean's "Independence of The Seas."  For more information on this exciting event, please take a look at the Trip Invite in this newsletter!  Hope to see you there!

Liberty Cruise  Cruising the Accessible
Liberty of the Seas

When Debra Kerper of Easy Access Travel asked me to accompany her on Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas, I jumped at the offer!  Debra has sailed on more than 80 cruises in her 20 plus career as an accessible travel agent.   She is an expert in cruising with a disability, and would be my mentor for this trip.

I have been on a couple cruises in my time, but I must admit, it's not my first choice of vacation.  However, cruising is an excellent way to see the world, and today's newest ships offer many amenities for the whole family, including those who may have some additional challenges.

Travel Stories & Tips:
Venice Disabled Access Review

By: John Sage

Venice is one of the most popular destinations in the world, yet few disabled tourists tackle it because of the intimidating bridges throughout the city. While there are hundreds of bridges connecting the islands throughout the city, disabled tourists can avoid them if they understand how the city is laid out. Several large neighborhoods, including the one containing St. Mark's Square, can be visited without encountering bridges.

These neighborhoods have few cobblestones and no steps. Venice disabled access building codes require that remodeled buildings are wheelchair accessible, however most buildings have not been remodeled.
