"Book of the Month" Review for October 2011
This month I would like to recommend a book that was first published in 1934. Yes, that's right; 1934. The title of this book is Security Analysis by Benjamin Graham and David Dodd.
This book is required reading at most business graduate schools these days. Benjamin Graham was a lecturer in finance at Columbia University where Warren Buffet was one of his students. It was Graham who most influenced Buffet's investment philosophy.
This book is one of the fundamentals of the philosophy of 'Value Investing.' When markets, stock or bond or real estate, go upside down, the true indicator of value is income.
I know it is a thick book but don't be discouraged. It is full of information that you as a Note Broker may find helpful.
One of the reasons I recommend reading these financial books is that reading, hopefully, will stimulate your dreams and thus expand your individual life and career goals.
While reading this 1934 book, remember the old saying that "the more things change, the more they remain the same."
Read. Learn. Dream. Grow.
