Literary prowess will abound on campus this coming January during the Eighth Annual Eckerd College Writers' Conference: Writers in Paradise. Join best-selling authors Andre Dubus III (House of Sand and Fog, The Garden of Last Days, and Townie), Elizabeth Berg (Once Upon a Time, There Was You, Open House, and The Last Time I Saw You), Dennis Lehane '88 (Moonlight Mile, Shutter Island, and The Given Day), and more award-winning faculty and speakers for the free evening readings in Miller Auditorium.

The Sweet Potatoes are Especially Enormous!

 

From the bloggers of The Edible Peace Patch Garden, a cooperative effort between Eckerd College Environmental Studies and Lakewood Elementary School 

"... The progress I have seen in the garden is incredible. We have full sized okra, beets, squash, radishes, carrots, green beans, and a plethora of green tomatoes well on their way to ripening. The sweet potatoes are especially enormous!"

Support Our Seniors! Go to the GO for The Festival of Hope on Dec. 7
This annual College Program Series event is the conclusion to Quest for Meaning, a 40-hour service-learning project conducted by Eckerd College seniors. On Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 1-3 pm under the GO Pavilion, booths will showcase the non-profits where members of the Class of 2012 have volunteered during the semester. Enjoy the Candy Land theme, free coffee, cookies, cotton candy and tie-dye!

Eckerd College Campus Garden Hosts Fall Harvest Festival on Dec. 10
The coordinators for the Eckerd College Campus Garden are preparing for the annual Fall Harvest Festival to be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 4-7 pm between the soccer and baseball fields. Enjoy a potluck dinner (bring your favorite dish!), live music and fun activities. Contact Andrea Willingham '12 for more information. All are welcome!
