Hong Kong is a Chinese delight whose identity is constantly in flux and which offers visitors something new every time they set foot on this island metropolis. Whether you explore Hong Kong Island or the Kowloon area, you will certainly understand why it is often referred to as the point where "East meets West." Hong Kong's British colonial roots and undeniable Chinese influences make this world famous destination a unique and ever-changing cultural blend. A veritable shopper's paradise, this exotic locale offers amazing amounts of choice coupled with low prices and high quality. When you aren't taking in the stores, visit such sites as the historic clock tower, Cultural Centre, Tin Lau Temple and more.
Sail through the city's harbor on the illustrious Star Ferry or take a more traditional form of transportation courtesy of an ancient Chinese Junk. Dine on fresh seafood caught by inhabitants of floating villages who never set foot on land from the comfort of an enormous floating restaurant. Whatever your choice to explore, Hong Kong Island and Kowloon will be a journey you will never forget. |

Florida Spanish Heritage Trail
A signature educational program of EA TOURS American Featured Destination AN AMERICAN JOURNEY-A LOOK INTO OUR HISTORY NOW AND THEN!

King Juan Carlos I. and Queen Sofia w/ Govenor Crist at the TT Wentworth Museum in Pensacola, FL for the 450th anniversary celebration |
EA Tours'- Florida Spanish Heritage Trail program is a new addition created so that students and teachers can explore Florida's ancestral past. Four fantastic days of touring are planned around visiting Pensacola, Tallahassee and Saint Augustine bringing visitors face to face with the state's rich cultural heritage. Not a widely known fact, the first landing of Europeans (Spanish) in North America was at present-day Pensacola. After the failed-attempt in Pensacola, the Spanish explorers eventually returned to Florida to settle Saint Augustine, a landmark city for Florida history. Its establishment in 1565 makes it the oldest city in the United States, beating out the English settlement of Jamestown by forty years. A uniquely timeless example of Spanish settlement and adventurous spirit, the city is full of old churches, museums, fortifications and more. Climb the 219 steps of the Saint Augustine Lighthouse, visit the purported Fountain of Youth, or even the world's oldest wooden schoolhouse. Regardless of where you begin your trek of the trail, a program to trace the state's historic past would not be complete without stopping along the route at the capital city of Tallahassee. Complete with the Florida History Museum and the Governor's Mansion, Tallahassee is always a welcome stop.
Some schools opt to add an overnight in the entertainment capital of the state, Orlando. Whether you choose to spend the day at Universal, Disney or Seaworld followed by dinner at a fun-filled dinner show, your time in Orlando is always a welcome respite before heading home. |

Jackie Poole's Italy group in front of the Arch of Constantine | What is your favorite destination and why?
I have traveled to many destinations including Australia/New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Austria, Switzerland, Scotland, London, Wales, France, Egypt, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Alaska - I'm sure I've missed some; but, Italy is my favorite destination. I cannot name one particular city in Italy but these areas are my favorites: Tuscany's hill towns and the Amalfi Coast's seaside towns. I enjoy the off-the-beaten-path small town experiences. I like to think of them as "hidden gems." Of all the services EATours offers, what is it you most like, and why?
I have worked with Euro American for 30 years (for a majority as a teacher and now I am retired and assist the school with arrangements as a tour leader). The reasons are the same today as they were 3 decades ago: the expert staff, the attentive personal service (always aiming to please), the divine arranged meals and the knowledgeable and accommodating tour leaders. But one thing that stands out is that I have the ability to see and work from a planned itinerary but customize it to my liking so that it can be still something new for me and return travelers. What sort of methods do you use for recruiting that other teachers may find helpful to assist in their own recruiting efforts?
As everyone knows, Euro-American produces a brochure specific to our tour which is then mailed out to our entire school's mailing list. But in addition to the school mailing, I like to send out personal invites to repeat travelers who have expressed interest in joining our family-oriented trips. We also offer a follow up picture party in order to get suggestions for the next trip. My travelers know the value that Euro American offers from traveling with us for many years.
What destination(s) do you plan on traveling to in the future? We are planning our 2012 trip to the Villages of Cinque Terra and the Lake District including Lake Como. We have had a lot of requests from frequent travelers within our group to visit those areas. | |
