rome_ colusseumAmazing gelato (Italian ice cream), horse and buggy rides by moonlight, the lights of the Colosseum, the rushing waters of the Trevi Fountain all combine to be just a few of the reasons why Rome remains one of the most visited cities in the world. Built layer upon layer on seven hills, the city is an archeological treasure whose history is woven into its bustling streets. For centuries, Rome has been a center for religious pilgrimages, in part because of the over 900 churches within its limits including St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. The city boasts dozens of museums containing vast numbers of priceless pieces of art, as well as unmatched shopping and restaurants..

There is something for everyone in Rome. The Colosseum and the Roman Forum , the intricate details of the Sistine Chapel, and the Vatican Museum, Capitoline Museum, and Galleria Borghese provide a seemingly endless array of treasures. The charm of this major capital city undoubtedly will bring you back time and time again. Florence, the Almafi coast, and other nearby delights are just a sampling of other Italian sights and places you may enjoy. This is just a tiny sampling of what Rome and its environs can offer you; the possibilities are seemingly endless!

What is your favorite destination and why?
Italy is one of my favorite destinations.
It offers some of the world's
greatest art and architecture, superior crafts, excellent food and a
welcoming, friendly people. Taormina, Stresa and Capri are some of my
favorite places within Italy.

Of all the services EATours offers, what is it you most like, and why?
Euro-American has the resources, staff and expertise to make my
itineraries a reality.  I have dealt with other larger companies and did
not experience the personal service, quality or reliability that I
receive with Euro-American.

I have always been very pleased with the quality of the hotels, meals
and transportation as well as the educational aspects, excursions and
guides.

What sort of methods do you use for recruiting that other teachers may find helpful to assist in their own recruiting efforts?
E-mail flyers and mini-brochures have proven to be very effective for
our trip, these can be sent quickly, in full color and at no cost.  A
few photographs of the destinations and a little information encourages
interest.

Short video presentations have proven themselves to be very effective in
recruitment.  These highlight the inclusions of the trip, major sights,
cities, and information about myself and other advisors.  Including
traditional background music of the countries also helps set the mood.
It is a good idea to include good images from past trips with students
engaged in activities and in front of landmarks.

What destination(s) do you plan on traveling to in the future?
Our travel program will continue to travel in Europe concentrating one
or two countries each year.

Know Before You Go
Passports
Before you go, make sure you have your travel documents ready. You must have valid a passport. Some countries require your passport to be valid beyond your travel dates. It's a good idea for your passport to be valid up to 6 months after your expected return date.

Make a couple of copies of your passport before you leave. Keep one at home and put a copy in your suitcase. Keep your passport with you at all times when you're abroad.

Things to Pack That Most Travelers Don't Think About
1) Pack extra batteries and memory sticks for your camera (film if using a 35mm). These items are more expensive abroad.

2) If you wear contacts, pack your own eye solution; you may not find your type of solution overseas. Always pack an extra pair of eyeglasses.

3) If you're taking a prescription medication, make sure you have enough for your entire stay. To avoid problems passing through customs, keep you medications in their original labeled prescription packaging.

4) Pack your glasses and prescriptions in your carry-on luggage.

5) Put your name, address and phone numbers on the inside and outside of your luggage.

Airport Guidelines
Please remember TSA (Transportation Security Administration) regulations must be followed at all times. Please refer to their website for additional details:http://www.tsa.gov
