Dear Friends,

Sunday is Rally Day!

Pardon my grammar, but I love new beginnings; I love fresh starts! I love to think about the potential for growth in Jesus Christ. And then, I also love actually getting started! And that's what Rally Day is about.

Our church leadership has worked very hard this summer to prepare us for Sunday. Our staff, leaders, teachers and helpers have been busy planning, recruiting, learning, organizing and praying for all that will happen during the coming program year. We are offering a wealth of opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, service and worship. All the pieces are in place and we are ready to roll!

In a very real sense though, all of this preparation is only part of the story. The other part is yours to decide. With all these offerings to encourage our growth in Christ, where will you be involved? I want to encourage you to take a moment to evaluate where God might be stretching you this year. What will be your "growing edge"? Some
of us will want to grow in our knowledge of Scripture, some in the ability to pray more deeply, some in serving others more fully; the possibilities go on and on.

Our theme for this calendar year is Be the Church! This fall, we will preach through the Acts of the Apostles. We'll see how God touched the lives of unbelieving people in the name of Jesus Christ, how the Holy Spirit formed the early church in all its enthusiasm and challenges, how whole communities were changed and how God was glorified. I truly believe that God continues to work in our midst, and look forward to how God will continue to touch our lives and guide us to Be the Church!

I am glad to be serving Jesus Christ alongside you this program year and I look forward to what God will do in our midst in the months ahead.

Alleluia!

Dave Bianchin
