Dear Friends,

We had an exciting celebration last Sunday, April 29! Even if you
weren't able to be here, you played an important role. We tore up the mortgage! The 2PC Controller sent a message to Commerce Bank on Thursday, April 26, instructing them to pay off our mortgage balance
of $180,699. Thank you for letting your light shine!

To date, Second Pres has received $2,198,525 in response to the
Let Your Light Shine capital campaign. Your faithfulness in fulfilling your pledge is a marvelous response to the grace of God. Your pledge payments, in addition to a portion of the bequest from Laura Sullivan's estate, were designated for this campaign.

I cannot tell you how impressive it is that the mortgage was paid off early. I have pastored four churches in the past six years and 2PC's
commitment to retiring the mortgage early is almost miraculous in
the times we live in. Thanks be to God!

There are still some important steps for us to complete. When the
priorities of the Let Your Light Shine campaign were set, Session
committed any funds raised beyond the mortgage retirement goal
to support the immediate capital needs of our church campus.
Accordingly, 2PC Trustees outlined the following projects:

*Replace the Grace Hall roof and repairing its exterior;
*Repair and restore the interior space of Grace Hall;
*Capen Building demolition and parking creation;
*Restore and renew the Fellowship Hall.

The cost to complete these maintenance and improvement items will
be approximately $1,300,000. Fulfilled pledges exceeding these needs will be used to establish a capital improvements fund so we can focus annual operating resources on 2PC's ministry and mission.

A church building is a tool for ministry. It is a place that God provides
for us, in a particular location, to worship and to faithfully represent
the Gospel in this time and place. This is our place and our time. But more correctly, it is God's place and God's time; God is using us in
partnership for His purposes.

Thank you again for your generous faithful response to the needs of
Second Pres. God is at work among us. Thanks be to God!

Alleluia!

Dave Bianchin
