Dear Friends,

Scripture instructs us to Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord!
I can't think of a better time to recognize this than on Choir Sunday. One of the real joys for me in being here is the music program. I appreciate many things about our program and our music ministers.

First, our musicians clearly focus us on worship. This is so important. While the excellence is appreciated and valued, the thrust of what we do is to give glory to God, and I am so thankful that this aspect comes through so clearly. In listening and in singing, we are led to worship at the throne, to stand in awe of God's grandeur and to meet God personally.

Second, I appreciate the sincerity of our music and our musicians. People are clearly here to use their gifts in the ministry of music. I sense, from leaders to singers to accompanists and everyone else, there is a desire to serve God through the music. It is not merely a performance. There is a servant heart at work, and it is a blessing.

Third, I appreciate the excellence of the program. In terms of both traditional and contemporary music, we enjoy a top-notch program here. When I come to worship I see so many persons giving
themselves in Christ's service through the ministry of music. I am grateful that the notes and words lead me in awe and wonder to
worship the living God.

Fourth, our program is amazingly intergenerational. There is not
a Sunday that we gather that does not give evidence of God working through all ages here at Second Pres. The blessing of seeing and
hearing voices of all generations praising God is a tremendous
encouragement to us all, and a sign that the Holy Spirit is continuing to work in our midst.

So, let us all make a joyful noise unto the Lord! And let us be thankful for those who lead us in song! I hope to see you Sunday.

Alleluia!

Dave Bianchin

Parents of 2012 Graduates
If your son or daughter is graduating from high school, college or a post-high school program this spring, 2PC is eager to celebrate with you! Families of high school seniors should have received a letter from Rev. Josh Erickson outlining how 2PC plans to honor those graduates and what information should be returned to the church. If you didn't receive that letter, please contact Janice Bauder. Families of college or post-high school program graduates should submit the student's name, school attended and the degree/program completed to Janice.

Dr. Roane Deckert's powerful limestone sculpture, Pioneer Woman, has been placed at the juncture of the atrium and the new Mother/Baby Unit at Advocate BroMenn. The Advocate BroMenn Foundation will purchase the statue after they receive donations totaling $39,000 (the appraised value).

Please click here to donate by credit card or click here to donate by check, or pick up these forms and a self-addressed stamped envelope at Connection Point Sunday to mail your contribution. Once the funds are raised, the Foundation will purchase Pioneer Woman.

Whether you shopped the sale, donated bake sale goods, provided meals for the workers, donated items, gave financially to the sale or supported the event in other ways, you are appreciated. Because of your generosity, the 2012 2PC Mission Group Sale was a success and an amazing week of fellowship, service and being the church. Over $28,000 was collected on the day of the sale. We are truly grateful to be a part of such a giving church family. The 2013 2PC Mission Group Sale will be April 13 at the Interstate Center...save the date! Thank you again!
