Dear Friends,
Loving and serving God can happen in a variety of ways and in a
variety of contexts. As a church, we have been challenging one
another a lot lately, and I want to take a moment to say thank you. I want to give the spotlight this week to the ways 2PC focuses outwardly in mission and study, and how we have responded faithfully.
First, I want to thank the many folks who participated in the
Unexpected Adventure all-church study. I pray that God will provide opportunities for you to continue to grow in your faith and to share your faith in the days ahead.
A big thank you goes to those who supported our Lenten mission focus, Give it up for LCP! The $15,000 goal was met to purchase sausage-making equipment for the Little Children of the Philippines ministry. In addition, 10 child sponsorships were initiated and 368 Christmas toys were purchased. If you are interested in child sponsorship information, visit the table in the south entry today. Also, a 2PC Mission team will travel to the Philippines from July 11-25. Maybe God is calling you not only to support LCP, but also to fellowship with them there!
Another 2PC Mission team will travel to Mexico on June 15 to assist at the recently completed Hands of Christ Medical Clinic. Please pray as they prepare, travel and serve the Chiapas people that week. You are invited to donate non-prescription reading glasses in strengths of 1.0-2.25; non-prescription sunglasses; multi-vitamins (adult, prenatal and children's chewable); toothbrushes/toothpaste (your dentist may share samples); glucometers and current unused strips (your doctor may share samples). Colorful collection baskets are at Connection Point and the Prairie Street entrance. Contact DeAnn Worth at 452-4055 with any questions.
I also want to thank the many, many people who are helping to make the 2PC Mission Group Sale a success. Since the sale is Saturday, I don't have any numbers to share, but I trust that it will be a rousing success. Your support makes it possible for our Chancel Choir to share the love of Christ this summer.
Thanks for your partnership in the Gospel. May God continue to lead us forward in faith and service.
