Upcoming Discipleship Opportunities

There are three opportunities to deepen your walk with Christ that are happening in February. The first is a marriage enrichment event, the second is the Lenten All-Church Study and the third is the 2PC Ash Wednesday Service.

The 2PC Marriage Ministry will host a special event for anyone interested in learning more about The Art of Communication.
The evening will be hosted by Rev. Dean Kladder and the marriage ministry team. It will feature a series of short video clips serving as conversation prompts for discussion about the importance of healthy and consistent marriage communication. People at any stage of marriage are encouraged to attend (including engaged couples). There is more information about this event later in this newsletter.

Lent will feature a great all-church study focusing on The Unexpected Adventure we take when we share our faith with others. The Adult Ministries and the Evangelism Committees are teaming up to lead this study. The study will have a dual focus on expressing your faith through words and encouraging one another to do so. If you have not signed up for the study yet, I encourage you to do so Sunday in the south entry.

The 2012 Lenten season is about to begin. Ash Wednesday is
February 22 and we will begin our journey together with dinner and a service that night. Ash Wednesday is a unique opportunity to focus on our sin. The goal is not to wallow in our sin for just one night but to rather "frame up" our sin in light of our Lenten and Holy Week journey to the cross. I hope you join in the meal and worship that night.

On a personal note, I want to thank the congregation for all of the support and encouragement that I have been given over the last month. It is a huge blessing to serve alongside such a faithful
congregation.

In Christ,

Rev. Josh Erickson
Associate Pastor for Youth
