RAA Monthly Membership Update
- Special Happy New Year Message from Roger Cohen

Here's hoping your New Year has begun well, and because of your loyal support, the Regional Airline Association (RAA) has never been stronger or carried a more prominent voice than it does today.

Through our collective and unified action, RAA and North America's regional airlines have earned a full seat at the table alongside the nation's decision-makers. Most importantly, our more than 52,000 airline workers have demonstrated to the flying public that regional airlines are safe, professional and reliable.

This year RAA will be aggressively expanding our services in critical areas -- sharing the best safety practices, keeping the nation's skies secure but yet accessible, and helping usher in both Next Generation technology and the next generation of highly-skilled aviation professionals. With more than half the nation's flights and 75% of US communities relying exclusively on regional airlines, it's our responsibility --- and regional airlines are more than up to the challenge.

Check our progress 24/7 on the RAA website,  on Facebook & Twitter and thru:

  • Monthly RAA Associate Member update- view our archive of emails here.

  • Quarterly issues of our Regional Horizons magazine, available in print and electronically here.

  • The RAA Convention in Nashville (May 16-19, 2011) will feature three special Convention Issues and report breaking news each day

  • RAA 2011 Annual Report - one-stop reference guide to Regional Aviation in North America

OAG's Sandy Rederer noted that while premium-fare air travel collapsed in 2009, off by more than 30%, a gradual recovery has been noted in 2010.  He forecasts the continuing recovery of the economy can boost both business and leisure travel from current levels.  Airline alliances are getting stronger with mainline mergers back in fashion, he underlined in his presentation.
