OIL & GAS LEASES, INVITES LANDOWNERS TO NEW GROUPS
HHM recently helped a client group finalize oil & gas leasing agreements with Chesapeake Energy. The leases are the latest among more than 2,000 HHM has helped negotiate with attention to not only favorable financial terms but landowner protections as well. HHM is organizing new landowner lease groups for negotiation of favorable lease terms with energy companies. OHIO EDISON, DELLICK WIN CASE BEFORE OHIO SUPREME COURT
JOHN T. DELLICK and his client, Ohio Edison Company, prevailed recently before the Ohio Supreme Court against a lawsuit over an injury caused by a falling tree limb in Hartford in 2004. The court rejected the claim by the plaintiff, who was walking on a public road, that work safety provisions in Ohio Edison's tree-trimming contract should have prevented her injury. The tree was not part of the tree-trimming program and the most recent trimming in the area occurred three years before the injury. The plaintiff was represented by David Betras.
