HHM OFFERS COUNSEL ON OIL & GAS ISSUES, WARNS AGAINST RISKS IN STANDARD LEASES

Attorneys Wenger, Allison and Baronzzi.

HHM attorneys ALAN D. WENGER and J. BRADLEY ALLISON and CHRISTOPHER J. BARONZZI addressed local landowners in two October seminars about oil and gas leasing at the Dutch Village Inn in Columbiana.  Energy companies have been canvassing Ohio and Pennsylvania for leases to extract oil and gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale formations. Wenger has spoken at several other gatherings of landowners about the topic and has been quoted extensively in the local media.

Property owners are encouraged to use caution in leasing their mineral rights, particularly in situations when they're offered lease agreements drawn up by energy companies. "Many of these standard leases give drilling companies tremendous leeway and permission to conduct activities that could put landowners at considerable risk," Wenger said. "Under no circumstances should anyone sign an agreement so important without consulting an attorney." More information is available from Wenger at 330.744.1111 or by email.
