HHM attorneys CARMEN V. CODJOE and MATTHEW G. VANSUCH will address the legal ramifications of online payments as part of a seminar scheduled for Tuesday, June 15, at the Youngtown Business Incubator. Tyler Clark, a technology consultant and the incubator's chief imagination officer, will be the lead speaker for the seminar, set for 8 a.m. to noon in the incubator's Learning Lab. Gold Elected 

President of Trumbull 100

 

HHM member NED C. GOLD has been elected president of Trumbull 100, the county's foremost civic organization. He is serving a two-year term. Gold has been a member of Trumbull 100 for nine years. He also serves on the boards of the Boy Scouts of America Western Reserve Council and the Trumbull County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

SCOPE Board Elects Carey 

 

HHM member THOMAS G. CAREY has been elected to the board of directors of Senior Citizens Opportunities for Personal Endeavor (SCOPE) Inc., a service organization for senior adults in Trumbull County. He is serving a three-year term on the SCOPE board. Carey also serves on the board of Valley Counseling Services.

Christian Serves as Mediator

 

HHM member SHIRLEY J. CHRISTIAN served as a volunteer mediator in the foreclosure mediation program established by the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. The initiative helped qualifying borrowers and lenders arrive at out-of-court solutions.

Seminar on Health Care Reform Impact

 

Alan WengerHHM member ALAN D. WENGER, chair of the firm's Business and Employment Practice Group, will serve as a panelist for a June 23 seminar about the new federal health care reform law. The free seminar, sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, will explore the insurance, legal and tax ramifications of the new law and how it will affect companies.

 

The program is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman. Breakfast begins at 7:15 a.m.  Keynote speaker will be Scott Misischia, northeast Ohio sales director at Anthem. Wenger and James M. Rosa of Hill Barth & King will be the panelists. Blomstrom Named Among Top Litigation Lawyers

 

James BlomstromHHM member JAMES L. BLOMSTROM has been recognized among the nation's "Top Attorneys in Business Litigation" by the publishers of Super Lawyers magazines and legal directories. The March/April edition of the Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition included Blomstrom in its list of the top litigators and was distributed to more than 25,000 corporate attorneys and chief executives.Blomstrom was chosen by virtue of his recent selections to the Ohio Super Lawyers list. He has appeared on the Ohio list each year from 2004 through 2010.

Coombs Listed Among Best in Bankruptcy Law

COOMBS III has been recognized among the nation's top attorneys in bankruptcy and creditors' rights law by the publishers of Super Lawyers magazines and legal directories. The July edition of the Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition will include Coombs on its list of top lawyers and will be distributed to more than 25,000 U.S. corporate attorneys and chief executives. Coombs is the chair of HHM's Creditors' Rights Practice Group.

HHM and the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber recently celebrated the graduation of 23 students from the Mahoning Valley Local Government Academy, a nine-week training program for aspiring government leaders. SCHOR, chair of HHM's Public Sector Practice Group; and Joseph Lucente, extension agent with Ohio State University Extension in Toledo. HHM's Public Sector Practice Group was the sole sponsor of the academy, which was administered by the chamber. Schor was recently appointed to the chamber's Government Affairs Council.
