• Yes very optimistic as we are already 16% to date above last years sales which was 20% above the previous year, after 35 years in the trade I,ve seen so many changes, so many come and go, Business is what you make of it, if you project and forecast the negatives you will undoubtably be proven correct, we always market on the positives, it instills confidence in our customers, lastly no matter what happens with the economy or international markets the world will not stop, life will still go on, people will still need to eat, be housed and produce all the services and essentials for life as we know it and while this happening marketing of these products and services becomes even more essential, so our market/trade will never dissapear and will only get stronger.
• Optimistic is the only way to be in business.
• It's worrying that we hear that the Euro problem could go on for about 10 years. Let's hope we are immune to those long term problems.
• All the so-called financial experts are predicting doom and gloom because of the Greek/French/Italian economies. Our firm's trading figures took a hit 2 years ago, and has been gradually recovering since. My concern is that these financial whiz-kids are now creating a self-fulfilling prophecy that need not occur. We have shown confidence in the industry, and our firm, by investing in new machinery.
• It would have been interesting to ask why companies are or are not optimistic. I am optimistic for my business because we will bring on line major technical innovations linked to labor saving equipment which has taken 18 months to get in place. We have been able to invest in innovation through the tough times. My accountant tells me there are an awful lot of businesses out there that are simply not profitable at present.
• I dont think its going to be a good year, there is too much uncertainty with the Carbon Tax and the idiots in Federal Government they are the biggest problems. Certainly on line shopping will have an on flow effect and change the way things are done but business can adjust to that as there are opportunities there. Overall people will continue to save and with the idiots in power and the ever increasing cost of living I dont blame them.
• Things are already looking better this year, but at the end of the day its up to each of us to manage our business and get in work or look for new areas of work. This means adapting as the environment changes and looking for new markets or better ways to serve existing markets (this does not mean just dropping prices though, thats a no win situation). I suspect later this year the business environment with will difficult due to the ongoing global credit crisis that will probably worsen before it gets better.
• Yes as long as the global situation doesn't affect us too much. However some decent leadership of Australia is needed but unfortunately it is sadly lacking.
• Much of the industry work can be classified as advertising and this is an area that usually gets cut when times get tough. At the moment we are OK and we are optimistic about the future but realistically cautious.

(QLD, Brisbane Binding Machine Rhino-O-Tuff includes 4 x die's which are Comb, Wire and continuous coil (the wire is 3-1 and 3-2 with the 3-2 needing a new screw to allow it to enter the binder)
We never use the 3-2 as we have had no need to and never replaced it.
It will take around 27pp at a time to punch and we purchased it new for $3500 and only want $1000 for a quick sale.
