Greetings! With the hottest of summer months coming up, we thought we'd share some of our favorite summer tips with you to make sure this summer is happy and healthy for your pet. - Keep your pet hydrated. Pets can get dehydrated easy, so make sure that you always have fresh, clean water available for them.
- Don't leave your pets in a parked car. Even with the windows down, a parked car can still be extremely hot and can even lead to a heat stroke.
- Keep up with summer grooming. Consider giving your dog a lightweight haircut for the summer months. It is important to leave some fur so as not to expose the skin to the sun. People who have cats can brush them more often than usual in the summer months which can help prevent problems caused by excessive heat.
- Avoid fireworks. Not only do fireworks scare pets, but they can also potentially burn curious pets or cause other injuries. If you absolutely must have fireworks, make sure to keep your pet indoors. For dogs, consider giving them a calming supplement for dogs so that they might not be so frightened.
