If tourists are an important part of your business, then you won't want to miss the opportunity to direct them to your door step. We distribute 150,000 Visitors Guides and 350,000 Maps. If you advertise in the Guide, then you automatically get a dot and a listing on the Map. The Visitors Guide comes out in Jan. and is good for a year. I would be happy to mail you a Guide and Map if you don't have one. We have been able to develop a nice spread for several different communities using two basic elements: the 1/4 page advertorial ($595) which is a real bargain which includes 125 words of copy, a picture and contact info; and a listing ($395) which includes 25 words of copy and contact info. CLICK HERE for more information. I am going to include a spec ad for Bohemian Hwy that has both of those elements on it. We also have display advertising. I would welcome an opportunity to get together with you. Please be in touch. Thank you!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY IN THE CITY OF COTATI Have you ever thought about becoming a little more involved in your local community? The Community and Environment Commission (CEC) is a longstanding community volunteer group committed to providing community service in a variety of fun and interesting ways. The scope of the CEC is very broad and includes producing much-loved community events, and consideration of environmental and sustainability related issues. There are many different kinds of activities that a volunteer can become involved in through the CEC, and yet, the time commitment does not average more than one meeting a month including attendance at events! The CEC is a nine member commission established by City Ordinance. The CEC currently produces three events annually: the Holiday Tree Lighting, Pasta Feed and Bingo, and the City Hall Art Show. We are kicking off a volunteers drive to bring fresh energy and ideas to the Commission. Once the membership has been replenished the CEC will be able to expand its efforts. Already the CEC has added the "greening" of community events by producing events that create less waste. The CEC and the City Council would like to encourage Cotati citizens to consider becoming a part of a great Cotati tradition - by volunteering you enhance the overall experience of living in Cotati. Come be a part of the community!! Contact Marsha Sue Lustig, Assistant to the City Manager, at (707)665-3634 or mslustig@ci.cotati.ca.us. Daily Acts, a local Sonoma County-based non-profit, and the City of Cotati have formed a unique partnership to save water and grow food! In fall of 2009, they collaborated to transform a 5,000 square foot section of city lawn in Cotati into a low-water garden complete with fruit trees including Fig, Apples, Pears, and a Raspberry patch! The installation of this beautiful, waterwise garden was done at a cost of under $1 per square foot, to demonstrate that transforming your thirsty lawn can be affordable and easy! Daily Acts is hosting a "Labor-day Weekend workshop" on Saturday, September 3rd from 10am to 4pm. Join us for a fall workday and learn how to design, maintain, and harvest from this beautiful, edible garden. Learn a bit about Permaculture, an ecological design method to create low-maintenance, low-water, beautiful, lush gardens. Learn about techniques such as creating "plant guilds", intercropping, sheet-mulching, weed control, and more! Learn from landscape designer Patrick Picard, of Equinox landscapes, and get hands-on experience helping with much-needed fall plant & fruit tree care, and filling out the landscape with additional plantings. Space is limited, please register at www.dailyacts.org or 707.789.9664.
