COTATI CHAMBER ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER MARDI GRAS in COTATI Sat. 1/29/11 6 - 10 pm Cotati Room, Ray Miller Community Center, 216 E. School St., Cotati Laissez les bon temps rouler - let the good times roll!!! Celebrate Mardi Gras with the Chamber... Don't miss this annual dinner event with awards presented for Cotati Citizen of the Year, Chamber Business of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, and Businessperson Hall of Fame Award, plus our Silent Auction with fabulous items from a multitude of businesses. Buffet Dinner will be catered by Sally Tomatoes and includes appetizers of red bell pepper tarts and assorted grilled sausages with mustard remoulade, main courses of elixir of portobello soup, jambalaya and Big Chicken Mamou, with corn bread with spiced honey butter, dirty rice,

DOCTORS WITH A HEART DAY Chiropractor Dr. Venus Ann Maher will be providing service free of charge on Friday, February 11th for Doctors with a Heart Day. Traditionally this occurs on one day only, which for existing patients will be February 11th. However due to a need that cannot be met in one day, new patients will receive a free history, examination and first treatment when they schedule any time in the month of February. Dr. Maher has been providing service to Sonoma County for 22 years. While all adjustments are free on that day optional donations will be accepted for the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Doctors with a Heart Day is a day of free health care to members of the community. During regular business hours, on selected days, participating doctors provide service at no charge. Services are by appointment only. An optional donation for a local charity, the Redwood Empire Food Bank, is requested. The funds raised will help the effort to end hunger in our community and help those in need. Currently the Food Bank providing 27,000 meals per day and serves 78,000 people per month in Sonoma County. Every dollar donated turns into four dollars of food. COTATI CREEK CRITTERS UPCOMING EVENTS Restoring the native plants of the Laguna de Santa Rosa Creek Stewardship Days Second Saturdays, 9am-12 noon: February 12, March 12, April 9 (trash pick up), May 14 Help restore the upper reach of the Laguna de Santa Rosa by planting and taking care of native trees, shrubs, and understory plants, and removing invasive plants and trash. Actual tasks vary according to weather, conditions on the ground, etc. Wear work clothes, and boots or sturdy shoes. Dress for the weather, in layers. Proper raingear is essential. TWO-DAY EVENT FOR NORTH BAY START-UPS 1/28 & 1/29/11 LaunchPad, a new resource for San Francisco North Bay start-up entrepreneurs hosted by The 10X Group, in partnership with the Small Business Development Center at Santa Rosa Junior College, is scheduled for January 28 & 29, 2011. Overcoming the information overload facing a new entrepreneur and the hurdles of getting funding in today's tough economy are the goals of LaunchPad. With the help of fifteen recognized North Bay business experts, the two-day event will feature presentations, panel discussions, group activities and networking sessions on key topics such as business planning, securing funding, financial management, intellectual property, web marketing, sales and leadership. LaunchPad is designed to be more than a single event for entrepreneurial education. It can be the first step toward successfully obtaining an SBA loan or angel funding. LaunchPad partners include the Sonoma Mountain Business Cluster, Dominican University's Green MBA program and the City of Santa Rosa. It is limited to 35 participants and is being held at the Mark West Lodge and Event Center on Calistoga Road in Santa Rosa.
