| All-State Band and Strings Groups to Debut in 2012 |
Our newest groups, the Virginia Baptist All-State Band and the Virginia Baptist All-State Strings will perform for the first time on April 27-28, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Charlottesville.
Potential members must be in Grades 9-12 and be recommended for inclusion by their Pastor and/or Minister of Music. Eligible students should be or have been a part of an All-County, All-District or All-State ensemble or their equivalent (for those who are home-schooled).  The below is an email I received this week. If you or your church might be interested in obtaining this instrument, please get in touch with the owner, John Woodward, quickly. His email is below:
"Thank you for your potential interest in the organ that I just inherited. It's a very nice expensive organ that belonged to my Aunt who died a couple weeks ago. I understand that it sold new for somewhere around $70,000. It's in perfect condition but I have no use for it and I need to get it out of her apartment by the end of the month. I am willing to donate it to a worthy organization but would like the recipient to pick it up in Virginia Beach.
