Tech Edge
The Mighty MINI Rocket Car
The challenge: Take a real MINI Cooper Coupe and transform it into a spaceship complete with smoke blasting from the rocket launchers.
Even this engineering feat is no problem for Atomic Props. The MINI was surrounded by precision cut foam to create the rocket launchers and spaceship cone. The base was designed to withstand 100 MPH winds.
Dry ice simulated the propulsive jet blast -- an easier solution than running power. (Sometimes a low-tech solution is the best way to achieve the ideal effect.)
After its initial launch in New York, this showstopping rocket car blasted off to Switzerland.

The Secret to Creating Heroes
How do you get a realistically refreshing pour from a bottle of beer? How do you make a 20-foot slab of meat look tasty from a half mile away? The key to making hero-sized replicas of favorite food and drink is vinyl print over a foam form.
An alternative is a faux paint approach. But that can take weeks to create and may deliver cartoonish results. Vinyl print delivers true photographic realism faster and more cost effectively.
For the Miller Lite billboard, the Atomic team also needed to depict the new vortex design of the bottle's neck. The vinyl print captured the contours; LED lights highlighted the vortex in the night sky for added emphasis.

Place-Based Turns Heads
When you want to make an eye-popping statement, place-based creative makes sure your message can't be missed. In this case, the MGM Grand Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas wanted to promote the hotel's fabulous renovation in several locations indoors and out. This 14-foot paint can (which could hold 8,220 gallons) featured a website address, Twitter feed and QR code directing people to information about the renovations.
The Atomic team also coordinated installations and shipping between the locations.
