The weather is cooling off, the summer crowds have waned and the Island has turned into an even more special place to call home. Hearing the ocean waves through open windows on a cool evening---that is Island living! Please remember extended hours for dogs on the beach begins October 1st!
If you have not had a chance to complete the resident survey on municipal facilities (Town Hall/Police Station), please do this today (deadline is tomorrow). Thank you for your participation.
As always, please check the Town website often for news and events.

Municipal Facilities: Town Hall & Police Station
Over 60 residents joined Council at the September 11, 2012 Community Meeting (The Church of the Holy Cross, 2520 Middle Street) to discuss the future of municipal facilities, specifically Town Hall & Police Station.
Consulting firm Creech & Associates presented their space needs study findings (Click to read report), Staff presented project background information and residents offered their opinion (Click to read meeting minutes).
The Town is interested in your opinion. You are encouraged to complete the resident survey either online (Click here for survey-online) or return a paper copy to Town Hall (Click for survey-pdf). Please respond today --survey deadline is Friday, September 28, 2012 (tomorrow).
Many thanks to The Church of the Holy Cross for use of their facilities and support for this meeting.
Tennis & Basketball Court Project
Stith Park (2050 Middle)
If you have been in the Community Commercial District recently you know we are making progress on the Stith Park Tennis & Basketball Court Project, started on August 6th with an anticipated completion date in late November.
As contractors move closer to installation/completion phase, the Town will restrict access to the playgrounds and fields around the courts. Watch for notices on all Town communication platforms.
Currently the courts and large play toy area are closed.

Sullivan's Island In Photos
| | In previous E-Newsletters we asked you to share your favorite Island photos illustrating why you love SI, for use on the Town website and future E-Newsletters.
Bobby Thompson (2917 I'On) shared his favorite photo of the back marsh at sunset (featured as header photo on this E-Newsletter). Bobby, a former SI Planning Commissioner, commented that this photo shows some of the 367+ acres of marsh land protected by the Town through Conservation Recreation (CR) zoning designation (an illustration of the Town's stewardship efforts).
