CCSD students). Also, we have a number of smaller road projects that the SC Dept of
Transportation and Charleston County are tyring to wrap up. Thank you for using extra
caution when traveling through the road work or bus stop areas this month. |

Town seeks residents interested in serving on the Tree Commission. Applications and questionnaires accepted until 5:00PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2011.

NOTE: This is an out-of-cycle vacant seat that expires in September 2012. Regular Tree Commission service commitment is three (3) years if re-appointed by Town Council at the end of this original special term.

2011 Boards & Commmission Recruitment Update
The Town received fifteen (15) applications for the four (4) Planning Commission and three (3) Design Review Board positions (terms expiring September 2011). Town Council is currently reviewing applications for appointments soon.

We are in hurricane season now until November. August & September are historically the "high season" for hurricane events in SC. If you don't have your family plan in place, now is the time to get prepared. Please check Town resources as you develop your plan (Click here).
The Town is currenting testing its new S.I.R.E.N.S. (S.I. Remote Emergency Notification System)-an additional method to notify residents of emergencies. (Click here for news on SIRENS) |

 Town is in "summer season" for debris collection:
Household garbage - Tuesday & Friday
Yard debris/bulk trash: Wednesday
Recycling: every other Wednesday
NOTE: Charleston County Council has directed yard debris may be collected in clear plastic bags until Oct 1st.
