                                                                                          Vol. 2, Issue 7
Dear Residents and Friends of Sullivan's Island:
Happy April Fool's Day!  April is here and so is wonderful spring weather.  Residents are
celebrating Passover and Easter this week and weekend. Spring Break is starting for our K-12 students.  We have some important community notes to share and interesting community events in April. Remember, we are still in "winter season"for dogs on the beach until May 1st, although it feels too warm to be "winter!"
Please check the Town's website often for updates on local events and news.
Happy Holidays to you and your family.

GARDENING AND YARD DEBRIS TIPS
Spring is here and with it brings gardening and general yard clean-up.  When you begin your yardwork, keep these tips in mind:

*   RIGHTS-OF-WAY- No plants, fences, structures or obstructions are allowed in the right-of-way.  Call Town Hall if you are not sure where the right-of-way starts/ends in your yard.

*   Use CLEAR plastic bags
Place grass clippings & leaves in these bags, not black bags

*   CUT limb sizes down - 4 feet or less

*   PACE yourself - Town contractor, Suburban Disposal, can only pick up small piles of yard debris from each home each week.  Put out small piles each week to ensure it all gets picked up.

*   CURB It- Yard debris is placed at the end of your curb on Tuesday evening.

*   Contractors - Carry it away
If you hire a landscape contractor, the contractor must haul away the debris.

NOTE: Suburban Disposal does not pick up yard debris on vacant lots or on lots where it appears a contractor has worked.

Island-wide Yard Debris Pick-up:  Wednesdays

Questions: Call Suburban Disposal at (843) 873-4810 or
Town Hall at (843) 883-3198.
Happy Gardening!
