Special Council Meeting

Council will meet with Coastal Science & Engineering to discuss instructions and direction for the construction of a management plan for the Accreted Land. The meeting is open and the public is cordially invited.

 Dogs: Changes effective Nov. 1st
Dogs on Beach: Hours Change
Off-leash: 5AM-Noon
On-leash: Noon-5AM
Winter Hours for dogs on beach run until March 31st. Remember all dogs need licenses - 2010 licenses are available in December 2009.
NOTE: Council is considering changes to the 2010 dog license fee for non-residents and increasing the Winter Season for Dogs on Beach. Click here to read Ordinance 2009-8 (Draft). Council will next consider Ordinance 2009-8 on November 17, 2009.
 Winter Garbage Collection Schedule
Island-wide
Household garbage - Tuesdays
Bulk & Yard debris - Wednesdays
Recycling - Alternating Wednesdays
Remember roll out garbage containers must be placed curbside by 7:00AM collection day and removed from the curb by 7:00PM on collection day. Call Suburban Disposal at (843) 873-4810 if you need a container and/or have collection questions.
TOWN HALL HOLIDAY HOURS
Town Hall offices will be closed for the following holidays:
November 11, 2009 - Wednesday (Veteran's Day)
November 26 & 27, 2009-Thursday & Friday (Thanksgiving)
There will be no change in the garbage collection schedule these weeks. Normal Town Hall office hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday-Friday.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
Essential departments and services will be fully staffed.

Annual Holiday Park Lighting Event
"Dusk" on Friday, December 4, 2009
Sullivan's Island Fire Station (2050 Middle Street)
Join us for this family friendly event to kick-off the holiday season. Event should around 6:30pm-7:00pm.
Highlights: Holiday music by Wando High School Chorus, lighting of the fire station and park, snacks and beverages, and a "special" visitor for the young and young-at-heart.
