I TURN TODAY'S FORUM OVER TO MY FORMER CAMPAIGN MANAGER, AND THE WORLD'S BEST WIFE, PHYLLIS COLETTA...
GET ON THE TRAIN, OR OFF THE TRACKS
As many of you know, like the plurality of registered voters in this country, I have been an Independent all my life and, like most folks, often end up voting for the "lesser of two evils." In 2008 the GOP decided it was John McCain's turn to be President. How'd that work out? Now, in the arrogance typical of political elite, they have decided it's Mitt Romney's turn. You're wrong, guys. It's the people's turn.
I came away from running my husband's campaign for Congress in 2010 despising politics and the political establishment on both sides of the aisle. Politicians have almost destroyed us. But I also came away with a new admiration for the voice and the power of the people when they really embrace the engine of democratic principles. I can't stand politics, but I'm crazy about this country, what we're built on and who we really are. So when Herman Cain came on the scene months ago I started looking at him closely. I was told, early and often, that he was nobody. Funny, he's not nobody anymore. I became an "R" just to work for this guy, and I'm on the state leadership team for Elect Cain-Colorado, a well-structured grassroots movement to win him this state and the election.
Our economy is circling the drain and if we don't make substantial structural reforms, we are Greece, we are toast. I trust our economic future to Herman Cain, a man who can hold a vision of success and take every step to get there. Cain has proven himself a truly effective leader. He has risen to the top of three professions - systems, business management, and banking - and could have gone quietly into retirement, but instead he has put himself into the belly of the beast. He knows how to manage a complex process and make a difficult, informed decision. He is the ONLY candidate offering real plans, real solutions, taking real heat for his real leadership. You go, Herman, and we are right there with you.
Why not join me in the most amazing people's political revolution you will ever see? We need people to motivate and activate their neighbors and friends, get them to the caucuses, get them talking to others about issues; we need DELEGATES who will stand up and be counted on February 7, 2011 and at the state assembly and national convention. The media - across the board - has decided to try to make us all nervous about this extraordinary man. "He's got no money;" "He's got no infrastructure;" "He can't sustain his momentum." Like Mr. Cain has said over and over - the people will decide who is President, not the media. And message is more important than money. The politicians are raising millions, instilling fear left and right, trying to stop the engine of Cain's amazing leadership. Go ahead, fellas. Do politics as usual. Have fun. And then we'll take you to school on how it's really done.
Cain has Game and Cain has his Train, powered by the people, by the engine of democratic principles, by people who will be heard above Fox "news," or Politico, or the pundits, or anyone else who wants him to sit down and be quiet. This revolution we are a part of reminds me of what Mahatma Gandhi said of his revolution against imperial rule in India:
"First they ignore you. Then they mock you. Then they fight you. Then you win."

Call me, write to me. Learn the caucus process and plan to SHOW UP. Please educate yourselves on 999; use the sales tax calculator to show people that they will SAVE money as the price of goods goes down (have you bought a pound of coffee lately?). Send the man some money. Romney, Perry, and Obama are churning their political machines. We need to get out our checkbooks. We will help you train for the caucuses, we will send people to speak to your events and we'll put you to work. We will not rest until this man is in the White House.
Game on, folks. Get on the Train, or off the tracks. I'm done with politics and politicians. Let's show them who's turn it is.
