Article Headline      Check your Vitamin D Level

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that acts like a hormone in the human body. It is stored in the fat cells of the body and released as fat is burned. This essential vitamin is supplied through diet, sunlight and supplements.
The increased use of sunscreen, inadequate dietitary sources, and poor quality supplements all contribute to chronically low Vitamin D levels.

"A simple blood test, 25-hydroxyvitamin D, can provide you and your doctor with a clear picture of your vitamin D levels," says Dr. Rosalind Mitchell, Medical Director Sanctuary Medspa. "Your vitamin D level should be over 30, but many of our patients are surprised to learn that they have an insufficiency, or even a severe deficiency, of vitamin D."

Boosting Vitamin D Can Do a Heart Good

Patients who boosted their vitamin D levels to 43 nanograms per milliliter of blood or higher reduced their rates of heart attack, heart failure, high blood pressure and heart disease

Based on recent literature reviews, Dr Mitchell recommends increasing vitamin D intake by 1,000 to 5,000 international units a day to acheive a higher level for greater cardiac protection.

Quality Supplements are Necessary

In a recent Harvard study, researchers found that postmenopausal women who had vitamin D rich diets and took supplements had fewer fractures than women with diet sources alone.

Vitamin D helps prevent and treat bone disorders like rickets and osteoporosis aiding the absorption of calcium and phosphate in women and men.  The delivery system of  the vitamin D  is critical and can markedly affect the ability of the body to use the supplement once taken.

This indicates that quality supplements may be necessary in many cases to achieve proper levels of vitamin D.
More than one-third of older Americans may be running low on vitamin D.

Although the vitamin is available in some foods (such as certain types of fish, as well as fortified juices and cereals), it's difficult to obtain your recommended daily intake of D through dietary sources only. Your body can synthesize vitamin D during exposure to the sun's UVB rays, but getting too much sun can raise your risk of skin cancer.

Therefore, it may be best to boost your vitamin D levels by taking a daily supplement.

Memory and brain function closely linked to adequate Vitamin D

Alzheimers Disease shows diminished function in brain recall centers. Memory problems have been linked to low levels of vitamin D.  Memory centers of the brain have high vitamin D  requirements.  While more research needs to be completed, it is possible that vitamin D may serve as a treatment and/or preventative measure for Alzheimer's sufferers.

RAPID & EFFICIENT
Isotonic Vitamin D with K2

What makes Isotonix® Vitamin D with K2 product unique?

The two most important factors when searching for nutritional supplements are   adsorption and potency.

The Isotonix delivery system assures the most unique way for your body to absorb the daily vitamins and minerals that it needs. This delivery system allows the vitamins and minerals to be absorbed into your body rapidly. Isotonix food supplements, when mixed with water, have the same pH and osmotic pressure as the body's fluids, such as tears, plasma or blood.

Isotonix Vitamin D with K2 contains vitamin D3, the metabolically active form of vitamin D, along with vitamin K2, a form of vitamin K which supports vascular health and calcium utilization. Vitamin D plays an important role in bone health, heart health and immune support while working with vitamin K to support normal absorption of calcium and promote healthy arteries. Isotonix Vitamin D is the first of its kind to deliver both of these powerful vitamins with isotonic delivery.
