Greetings!

Greetings from the Milwaukee County Federated Library System!

We are excited to present a newly redesigned CountyCat. I wish to thank Steve Heser, MCFLS Library Systems Administrator, for coordinating this exciting project. A number of librarians form MCFLS member libraries served as advisors.

Some highlights of the new design include:

  • An interface with context-sensitive help and better layout to help you get the information you want

  • The ability to login with a unique username instead of a barcode.

  • "My Lists" - allows you to save titles to your own wish lists.

We hope you enjoy the new design. Thank you for your continued support of libraries and the Milwaukee County Federated Library System.

Sincerely,

Jim Gingery
Director
Milwaukee County Federated Library System

OVER 15,000 PUBLIC DOMAIN TITLES
ADDED TO OVERDRIVE

Project Gutenberg EPUB ebooks added to the collection

The WPLC announced that they are providing unlimited access to over 15,000 Project Gutenberg EPUB ebooks through OverDrive.  A list of the available titles are here.

These EPUB ebooks do not count against your checkouts on OverDrive and you will not need to sign in to download them.  Since these titles are in the EPUB format they can be used on the Sony Reader, Barnes and Noble nook and other devices.  The Amazon Kindle cannot read EPUB files.  More information on the EPUB format is here.

These titles are available through the Digital Download Center (http://dbooks.wplc.info) for immediate download.
