Yankee Girl Author Visit!
In the children's novel Yankee Girl, Alice Ann Moxley's FBI-agent father has been reassigned from Chicago to Jackson, Mississippi, to protect black people who are registering to vote. Alice finds herself thrust into the midst of the racial turmoil that dominates current events.
Join the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District as we celebrate Yankee Girl and One Book Two Villages with award-winning author Mary Ann Rodman. Lunch with Mary Ann Rodman at Corner Cooks  Mary Ann Rodman will discuss her life and the story behind Yankee Girl. This is a ticketed event and space is limited. Ticket proceeds benefit the Winnetka Alliance for Early Childhood. Date: Thursday, May 6 Time: 12-2 p.m.

 Yankee Girl 60s Dance Party
Do the frug, mashed potato & the twist!
Y'all, what do the frug, the mashed potato, the monkey, the wahtusi, the twist, the hully gully, the hitchhiker and the pony all have in common? They are all dances from the 60's! Join us for Wii Beatles Rock Band and dance to the music of the 60's like the kids in Yankee Girl. This is a family program for parents and children of all ages. Refreshments will be served.
