Jazz In The Afternoon
Art for All Seasons: Jazz In The Afternoon
 3:30 p.m. ∙ Sunday, October 4 ∙ Winnetka Main Library

On Sunday, the Winnetka Library will transform into a jazz club when noted-vocalist Petra van Nuis and guitarist Andy Brown take us on an exhilarating musical journey to both intimate and faraway places. Delectable hors d'oeuvres and music will fill the Lloyd Room, as we celebrate the kickoff of the Art for All Seasons program in memory of Constance Staffileno.

As a student of art, language, music and literature, Constance Staffileno had a great love of the library and education.  Through sickness and in health, Constance traveled to the library a few times each week to check out a stack of books, borrow CDs, attend opera lectures or participate in book discussions.  The library was "the only place that could sustain Constance's curiosity."

The Staffelino family generously bestowed the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District with the Art for All Seasons Constance E. Staffelino Creative Arts Memorial Gift.  The gift aims to give children a chance to develop a love of art and broaden their exposure to the world.

"The library was a special, special place for Constance.  She would have been very pleased and excited about this program," said Dr. Harry Staffileno.

After Sunday's Jazz In The Afternoon concert, you are invited to join us for a reception to recognize the Staffileno's exciting gift to the library.     Art for All Seasons
