Sliding into the season-ending event, held in Salou, Spain, 747 Motorsport TM Racing factory teammates Thomas Chareyre and Davide Gozzini were the tied for the top prize, the first time this has occurred in world Supermoto's prestigious S1 class. In true, title-winning form, Chareyre rode conservatively throughout the weekend, taking second in the first race, finishing fourth in the last two heats and beating Gozzini by two points to score his first championship. Throughout this super-competitive, hotly contested international series, Chareyre, a 22-year-old Frenchman, took a pair of pole positions--more than any other competitor--led 43 laps, rode to four heat wins, one overall victory and stood on the podium in three out of five events.
