FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

  GENERAL MEDIA ADVISORY FOR THE
1995 ORLANDO SUPERCROSS

IRVINE, Calif. (January, 1995) --

The 1995 Supercross season is about to kick off this Saturday in Orlando.

Either at the press conference on Thursday at noon or on Friday morning, we would like to extend to you the opportunity to meet with one or all of Kawasaki's riders and personnel. They are available for interviews, a personal tour of the track or a behind-the-scenes look at the team's semi rig which serves as headquarters during the races.

For 1995, there are two Kawasaki-backed Supercross squads. The premier team is a factory-backed effort which is sponsored by Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., importer of Kawasaki motorcycles in the United States; this is known as "Team Kawasaki."

TEAM KAWASAKI RIDERS
MIKE LaROCCO -- LaRocco, the reigning 250cc motocross champ, who won three Supercross rounds in 1994, placed second in last year's title chase. Recently voted "Fastest Motocrosser On The Planet" by the editors of Dirt Rider magazine, LaRocco, who finished second in Orlando last year, is looking to start the `95 season off with a big win.

MIKE KIEDROWSKI -- This four-time national championis the senior member of Team Kawasaki. Kiedrowski, who won a pair of Supercross rounds last year, has been training hard for the new season with his new tuner Brian Lunniss. Lunniss, who has 25 years of experience and nine championships to his credit, is known for bringing out the best in "his riders." This duo is sure be a threat.

ROBBIE REYNARD -- The newest addition to the team, Reynard was hired the day he was eligible for his professional motocross license! A junior at Westmore High School in Moore, Okla., Reynard works as hard in school as he does on the racetrack. He's an "A" student who attends classes just three hours a day before working out, riding his motorcycle for practice and doing his homework.

ABOUT TEAM KAWASAKI
A true "factory" effort in every sense of the word, Team Kawasaki has taken 14 national motocross and Supercross championships in the last 10 years. The team won its first title in 1976 with Jimmy Weinert, one of the pioneers of American motocross.

The next champion was Jeff Ward, who retired in 1992 after an illustrious career spanning 14 years and seven titles with Team Kawasaki. Ward is the only rider in history to win all three motocross titles (125cc, 250cc and 500cc) as well as the Supercross championship.

Now the team is defending the 250cc motocross crown with current superstar Mike LaRocco, who was recently voted "Fastest Motocrosser on the Planet" by the editors of Dirt Rider magazine. The team brings a deep history to the sport and continues to be a leader on the track.

With pre-season testing completed and a brand-new look for 1995, the team is well-equipped and ready to tackle the tough race season ahead.

TEAM SPLITFIRE/PRO CIRCUIT/KAWASAKI
The second is a private effort backed by Splitfire spark plugs, Pro Circuit, a Southern California company which designs and sells high-performance motocross products, and Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A.. This effort is known as "Team Splitfire/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki." For 1995, the team will feature riders Ryan Hughes, Mickael Pichon and David Pingree.

The premier privateer motocross effort in the country, Team Splitfire/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki evolved from team owner Mitch Payton's dream of operating his own motocross team. Payton, a former desert racer himself who, in 1980, began his motocross empire with Pro Circuit, a race shop that is famous for assisting with motor modifications and producing exhaust pipes for many of the factory race teams.

Payton put together a motocross team with major corporate sponsorship from inside and outside the motorcycle industry for the `91 and `92 seasons. The team soon became the class of the class by winning championships and presenting a professional image which rivaled the factories' best efforts. This is the second year of Kawasaki's association with this tremendous effort.

Kawasaki Team Green™ Manager Mark Johnson, the corporate overseer of this program said, " After winning the 125cc Supercross championships for two years, the team came to us with unprecedented credentials. It bridges the gap nicely between our Team Green amateur program and the Team Kawasaki professional squad; we're very fortunate to be associated with them."

I will call shortly to discuss the possibilities raised here.
