Summary Bill Added to Image Library
In an effort to eliminate the need for one of the most dreaded chores, filing, DemandBridge created the DB Image Library. This program captures all of the documents and journals that DemandBridge creates and indexes them to the transactions to which they relate. External documents can be imported or scanned and indexed as well. In addition to greatly reducing the need for filing, the DB Image Library puts all of these digital files at your fingertips so that you spend less time searching for documents. It also allows you to regain your valuable office space, where areas were previously committed to file cabinets, and offers one more safeguard in the event of a disaster. In a recent FeatureFlash, DemandBridge announced that inbound cXML transmissions had been added to the Image Library. Now two additional document types have been added, the Summary Bill and the Detail Shipment by Location Report.
These reports are indexed in Image Library when the final versions of the reports are updated with a Summary Bill Reference value specified. The prompt to update will only be presented when the option to print both the Summary Bill and the Detail Shipment by Location has been selected.
The indexed images for the Summary Bill and Detail Shipment by Location reports can be viewed by selecting an invoice from Open Invoice Inquiry or from Invoice History Inquiry and then clicking the "View Images" button, or they can be viewed directly by using the View Library Images option from the Image Library menu. Many DB Distributor users may have created custom versions of the Summary Bill based upon their customer's specific needs. Using ODBC they pull data from the Summary Bill file (FMY) into Excel, Crystal Reports or with the new DB Reports Suite. By having the standard version of the Summary Bill automatically indexed, they preserve a "snapshot" of the actual data for future audits against their customized version.
