Purchasable Assets DemandBridge Enterprise now offers the ability to charge for downloading digital assets. The widely used digital asset management feature of the DBe system remains intact ('standard'): A company level, group based repository for all digital files: digital photos, logos, sales support items, instructional videos and more. With this new offering, a price can now be associated with an asset ('purchasable'). Standard and purchasable assets can be intermingled within a single asset catalog. Purchasable assets will display a price in the catalog, as well as in the comp and info view of that asset, and the option to download will be replaced with "Add to Cart." When a user checks out with their purchasable asset(s), they will go through the normal checkout process. Once the order is placed, the order confirmation will contain a link to download their asset(s). They can also download from Account History and/or from the asset catalog in which they selected the asset in the first place. If they return to their asset after purchasing, they will see the price has a strike-through and the Add to Cart option will now appear as Download. A purchasable asset is a one-time purchase.
Security measures are in place as well, to ensure the user who ordered the asset is the only one who can download it from that email/order history/catalog. Administrators can view the ordered asset(s) placed by other users, however they cannot download the asset(s) from account history unless they have purchased it themselves. Administrators can define an asset as 'purchasable' type and associate a price with the asset. This can be done under Work With Asset Library under the distributor or customer sites. All purchasable assets are associated with a single unique item code, which has to be set up in DBd first per customer, before this feature is used. This item is a normal item type that has the EC item setting set to create a PO. Click Here to download documentation on Purchasable Assets, available now! Questions on Purchasable Assets?
