DB Distributor provides many programs for the generation of Reorder Notices. They can be automatically triggered when a customer enters an on-line order that causes an inventoried item to fall below reorder point, or they can be created on demand following a reporting option that looks at order history or print management parameters. This newest feature allows the operator, at order entry, to enter an email address and a reorder date to automatically schedule a reorder notice email for some date in the future.

This feature is activated at the customer level by checking the "Auto Reorder Notice" box on the second tab of the customer master file. Then, for only those customers with this feature enabled, a new panel will appear just prior to the Order Summary to allow the operator to enter an email address and reorder date for each line item of the order.    

On the scheduled date, the email will be created automatically and sent to the address entered during order entry.  A copy will also be delivered to the CSR who entered the order. If the email address is blank, but the reorder date is not, then the email will be sent to the CSR only.  

Please note that the CHUI version of the software works somewhat differently in that the email addresses and reorder dates are captured after each line of the order as opposed to once at the end.  And, because you cannot copy and paste in CHUI, after the email address has been entered on the first line of the order, it will default for the second and subsequent lines. 

The email template is customizable and can include your company logo and wording in accordance with your company's communication style. Order specific data replaces the "tags" where included on your template.  The template can even vary by customer based upon the Reorder Notice "Format Code" set in the Customer Defaults.
