New Enhancements for More Streamlined Order Entry

DB Distributor Order Entry now has a new option that provides for a more streamlined order entry process and real-time summarized review.

As users of the Graphical User Interface know, the original GUI design provided for a wizard approach of stepping through each of the panels in order entry.  In 2009, a new option for Order Lines Entry was added that used a Grid-based approach.

The first change is in the Order Header Entry.  The Order Type selection and the Freight Markup Table fields have been moved to the first Order Entry panel. Seldom are there any additional changes necessary to the Order Entry Header record, however, if needed, the operator can use the "Next" button to move to the second and third tabs as before. However, if no additional changes are necessary, the "Finish" button would move the operator directly to the order entry lines.

A new Summary panel is now available which simplifies order lines entry. As new lines are entered in the Order Lines Entry Summary panel, they are added to the summary display on the bottom of the panel.

The advantages of using this new panel as opposed to using the Grid-based Order Line entry approach is that there is an improvement in performance over the Grid, without sacrificing the ability to view a summary display of order line information

This new GUI feature is triggered by an option in the Application Security by Operator Parameters. To continue to use the original design, this box would be blank. Click once to check the box to use the Grid option, and twice to cycle to the "X" and take advantage of this new and improved Summary Entry option.
