  Catalog Deactivation

We've all done this at least once: Select a catalog, click delete, and quickly click the deletion confirmation...then your heart drops into your stomach...you selected the wrong catalog! Well, we can assure you that feeling will not happen again.

The new catalog deactivation feature allows an administrator to mark a catalog as inactive. The inactive flag removes the catalog from sight to all users whose groups it was assigned to. If a main catalog is deactivated and it contains nested catalogs, those nested catalogs will become inactive as well. The ability to deactivate individual nested catalogs is also available. The inactive catalogs appear grayed out to the administrator in the catalog tree under Work With Catalogs. The administrator can reactivate the catalog at any time simply by selecting the catalog and clicking the "Active" button. All previous catalog elements and permissions will remain intact.

The delete option remains available. However, a fail-safe feature has been added to allow our engineers to easily restore a deleted catalog back to its original state.  If you do delete a catalog by accident, simply e-mail DBe Help with the company name/account number and the catalog name and we will happily restore the catalog.
