Template Analysis Feature in DB Variable Print Toolkit
To make it easier to track common user errors in the creation of Variable Print PDF templates, a new template analysis feature has been added. The designer can now click the "Check Template" button available on the Product Setup page and they will be shown a complete analysis of the applicable set of Variable Print template files for that product. This analysis of all the files present in one place makes it much easier to identify certain common but previously hard to trace errors like missing fonts or colors, missing placeholders or just typographical errors that cause problems with the templates.
To further analyze font related issues, the designer can then click the "View Samplesheet" option to create a list of all of the embedded fonts found within the template's Font file. This table will assist the designer in identifying any font issue resulting from the font not being embedded completely or the glyph having been encoded improperly.
